Between June 5th and 8th, 2023, Lawyers Hub participated in the 12th edition of RightsCon, an international conference focusing on human rights in the digital era.
Risper Onyango, the Policy Lead at Lawyers Hub, led a hybrid session called “Demystifying AI in Africa”. This session provided an opportunity for attendees to explore and evaluate the policy framework and current state of artificial intelligence in Africa. It involved a detailed examination of the National Strategies that have been implemented and those under development in the region. The session aimed to underscore their advantages, shortcomings, and ultimately, their suitability to accommodate the unique circumstances within the continent.
