From June 5-7, 2023, our CEO and Founder, Linda Bonyo, represented Lawyers at re:publica 2023 in Berlin, Germany. She took part in a panel discussion titled "Beating the gender bias in AI".
The discussion focused on the increasing influence of AI in our daily lives and the ongoing biases in AI datasets and models that exacerbate the underrepresentation of women. This problem is particularly acute for women in the Global South, who are disproportionately affected by these disparities. The panel also explored the solutions offered by the BMZ and its feminist digital policy.
Linda Bonyo shared the panel with Katharina Klappheck, a speaker at the Gunda Werner Institute for Feminist Network Policy, and Kathleen Ziemann, a cultural scientist with over a decade of experience at the crossroads of digital transformation and development cooperation.
